US ARMY MEDICAL Dept. DIVIDED Plate ~ Mayer China

Here is a divided dinner plate in a pattern used by the US Army Medical Department at hospitals around the country.

The heavy divided plate measures 10 1/4 inches across. Mayer China produced this piece circa 1930s-early 1940s, according to the backstamp.  It's in very good condition, with light utensil marks, and no chips, cracks or hairlines.  The maroon caduceus is crisp and clear. Worthy of any collection.
