BLACKHAWK Hotels Celery Tray 1950 Syracuse China

$15.00

This is a celery tray used by Blackhawk Hotels. It was a small chain of hotels which was started in 1929 and eventually had locations in Minnesota, Iowa and Illinois.

The tray measures 9 7/8 by 4 3/4 inches. It features the black and maroon logo of the hotel which consists of a circle with a Native American and crossed arrows and a banner across it reading Blackhawk Hotels Company. Below are crossed peace pipes and a B. There is a maroon band around the verge.

Syracuse China manufactured this piece in 1950. It's in excellent condition, showing few signs of use. There is a chigger bite on the rim but it's under the glaze and done during the manufacturing process.
