ST. ELMO Chamberstick 1920s Syracuse China

$20.00

This dainty chamberstick dates to 1924. Syracuse China manufactured this piece in the popular St. Elmo pattern in blue. Marked on the base is the shield of a hotel but so far I've been unable to track down which one.

The shield consists of a stag and lion on either side of the shield with a deer head above and a banner reading "per deum et ferrum obtinui" (I have obtained it by God and my sword). This is the crest of Lord Arthur Hill but I've been unable to track down a hotel connected with him.

The candle holder measures 4 1/2 inches in diameter and stands 2 1/4 inches tall. Excellent all around condition.

Great addition to any hotel or restaurant ware collection.

Thanks for looking!

Four available so get one for each bedroom.  Some are datecoded 1924 and some are 1925.
