AUTOMOBILE CLUB of BUFFALO Plate ~ 1940 Syracuse!

$15.00

This vintage plate was made for the Automobile Club of Buffalo, which was founded in 1911. The club was located at 10405 Main Street in Clarence, NY. The property has since been sold to the Town of Clarence and is used as a meeting hall.

The plate features the logo of the club, a winged circle with a large B in the center and The Automobile Club surrounding it, at the top of the plate. The stock pattern rim treatment is a blue, white and orange band interrupted with groupings of 3 oranges roses and leaves. Railroad collectors are familiar with this pattern, calling it Palm Beach, as it was used by Seaboard Airline Railway with the addition of Seaboard in place of the club's logo.

The plate measures 6 7/8 inches in diameter and is in good condition. No chips, cracks or hairlines but there is moderate to heavy utensil use in the well. Plenty of life left in this plate! OPCO Syracuse China manufactured this plate in 1940.

Nice piece of history from the Buffalo area. Thanks for looking
