COLOR WHEEL Sample Plate ~ 1930s Sterling China ~ Don't Miss!

Offered today is a rare color wheel sample plate, circa 1930s. Although not marked on the back, it was more than likely manufactured by Sterling China.

In the center of the plate is the circular logo of Chas. W. Harrison, 621 Broadway, E. Liverpool, O., a ceramic color decoration supply company. According to various city directories, it was in business 1937-1949 and possibly longer.

This 9 3/4 inch plate features the various shades of colors available, mostly blues, and their accompanying number on an ivory body. The plate is as close to mint as you can get, with just a few tiny scratches in the well. It looks as beautiful as the day it was created.

Sample plates are highly sought after with color wheels being about the best you can get. A stunning representation of the high quality workmanship of American manufacturers.
