This striking airline pattern was used by TWA or Trans World Airlines in internation first class service.
The 3 inch tall cup is the Ambassador pattern, which features a bold red ribbon topped with a coin gold starburst with TWA inside. It is backstamped TWA and was made Contemporary Resources of Japan.
This 5 1/4 inch saucer is in the Royal Ambassador pattern, which has a coin gold starburst with RA inside, instead of TWA. It is in excellent condition, with just a few utensil marks. It is also backstamped TWA and was made by Rosenthal.
