This tea strainer is from a Danish shipping company, Det Ostasiatiske Kompagni of Copenhagen, also known as East Asiatic Company, which was founded in 1897.
The strainer is stamped with the name of the company as well as their house flag of a fouled anchor on a diagonal and O K beneath. The piece measures 6 inches from the handle and 3 3/4 inches in diameter. The name is slightly doublestamped and a bit hard to read but it's an extremely hard serving piece to find.
The manufacturer's mark on the bottom consists of an outline of a swan, D.F.A. and a P in a circle. DANSK FORSOLVNINGS ANSTALT was in business from 1907-1967 in Denmark so this strainer is certainly a vintage piece.
The silverplated tea strainer is in excellent condition as you can see from the pictures. Don't miss out on this one.
