PROVIDENCE-BILTMORE Matchstand ~ Hall China

This fabulous matchstand is from Providence-Biltmore Hotel, 11 Dorrance Street, Providence, Rhode Island. The hotel opened in 1922 as part of the Biltmore Hotel Chain. In 1977, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places and is currently owned by Grand Heritage Hotels International.

The cobalt blue and gilt stand was manufactured by Hall China. It measures 5 1/4 by 4 1/4 at the base and stands 3 1/2 inches tall. A gilt shield with PB is located on both sides of the stand with Providence-Biltmore along the base. Other than some wear to the gold, it's in excellent condition. Great piece to add to your match stand or match strike collection.
