This flip-top sugar bowl was manufactured by Hall China, although not marked as such. The base is marked Utilities Specialities Co. Inc., Jersey City, N.J., U.S.A. This company was a manufacturer and distributor of restaurant supplies.
The maroon base, which is darker than my pictures show, has a white interior and stands 3 inches tall. The chrome lid is also marked Utilities Specialties Co., Jersey City, N.J. The lid measures 4 5/8 inches in diameter. The Hall China base is in very good condition, no chips or cracks. The chrome lid shows quite a bit of wear from some over-agressive scrubbing and was well-used over the years. The hinge is in working order.
Hall flip-tops don't come around that often so don't miss adding this one to your collection.
