King Joy Lo was a Mandarin restaurant located at 57 W. Randolph St. in Chicago, IL. It was quite famous as an upscale Chinese restaurant from 1910 through the 1930s.
Bauscher manufactured this oval platter in 1912. The topmark consists of a yellow pennant with a fire-breathing dragon and reading King Joy Lo in orange. Red and green stripes encircle the rim.
No chips, cracks or hairlines but there is moderate to heavy utensil use in the well and age spots around the rim. For almost 100 years old, I'd say it was in great condition!
Nice piece of Chicago history.
