PALACE HOTEL Demi Cup ~ San Francisco

$10.00

This demi cup is from one of San Francisco's most famous hotels. The Palace Hotel opened in 1875 and cost $5 million to build. The hotel survived the earthquake of 1906 but was gutted by the fires which engulfed the city. It reopened in 1909 and served the city well until 1989, when it closed again for a major restoration which was completed in 1991.

The after dinner cup features the well known doubleheaded eagle crest in gold with PH in a shield with Palace Hotel below. Two gold stripes encircle the rim with a matching stripe down the handle. No maker's mark on the cup. It stands 2 1/4 inches tall and is in excellent condition.

Great piece of California history for the collector. Thanks for looking and please see all 3 pictures.
