MASONIC Temple ~ PITTSBURGH ~ Butterpat

$12.00

Here's a great little piece of history from Pittsburgh. This butter pat features a topmark from the Masonic Temple in Pittsburgh. Built circa 1914 by renowned architect Benno Janssen of Janssen & Abbot Architects, it was acquired by The University of Pittsburgh in the early 1990's and is now called Alumni Hall.

The Masonic topmark as well as the pinstripes surrounding it are all in maroon. The pat measures 3 5/8 inches and is in excellent condition, showing little use but there are some age spots on the rim. There is no maker's mark on this tiny treasure but the circular design on the bottom leads me to believe it's Syracuse.

If you collect restaurant ware or fraternal china, don't miss this butterpat. A great piece of history for the Pittsburgh collector as well.

Thanks for looking and please see both pictures.
