NICK'S SEAFOOD PAVILION Soup Plate ~ Sterling 1982

$25.00

Sterling China manufactured this soup plate in 1982 for Nick's Seafood Pavilion which was located in Yorktown, Virginia. Nick and Mary Mathews opened the restaurant in 1944. The restaurant closed and the building was demolished after sustaining damage during Hurricane Isabel.

Nick was a great friend to the US Navy and sailors from the nearby Navy Mine School. Mr. Mathews died in 1983 on the way to christen the USS Yorktown.

The initials are in the well of the bowl in mustard surrounded by a mustard wreath. The rim of the bowl is teal with matching mustard stripes. The 9 inch soup plate is in excellent unused condition with just a few scuffs in the well.

If you ate at this restaurant while in the US Navy or just passing through, don't miss bidding on this soup plate. It's a great size to use for salad and pasta too.
