BIT OF SWEDEN Cream Pitcher ~ California Restaurants

$18.00

The shield on the side of the pitcher reads Bit of Sweden. This restaurant was located in San Francisco until 1942 and another was in Hollywood, which was famous for its smorgasbord.

The pitcher stands 4 inches tall and features the Bit of Sweden shield in blue on the side with a band of blue and yellow surrounding the body. The blue band is slightly runny near the spout, a manufacturing defect.  It's whiter than my picture shows. There are no chips, cracks or hairlines and just moderate use. Great piece to use or display. Sterling China manufactured this pitcher circa 1930s-1950, according to the backstamp.

Thanks for looking and please see all 4 pictures, including a clearer picture of the shield which I borrowed from a postcard, not included. The pitcher itself weighs about one pound.
