TRIANGLE Restaurant Eggcup - Chicago - Sterling - B&W

$25.00

This footed eggcup is from Triangle Restaurants, a small Chicago chain known for its sugar cured ham. Its original location, circa 1916, was at the triangular corner of Broadway, Sheridan and Montrose Avenue, hence its name.

The cup features a handsome black and white design around the rim with double triangles and reading Triangle Hot Roast Sugar Cured Ham. It stands approx. 3 1/8 inches tall and was manufactured by Sterling China with the shield backstamp from 1920s-early 1930s.

The eggcup is in excellent, almost unused, condition but it does have some pinpricks of color inside, all under the glaze and done during the manufacturing process. Please see the pictures.

And excellent piece of Chicago history! Thanks for looking and please see all 4 pictures.
