National CATHEDRAL School ~ Washington, DC Plate

$12.00

McNicol China of Clarksburg, WV manufactured this plate for National Cathedral School.

This Episcopalian girls' school opened its doors in 1900 in Washington, DC and was started by the first Bishop of Washington, Henry Yates Satterlee, along with philanthropist Phoebe Apperson Hearst.

The 6 1/4 inch plate features the old crest of the school with a bishop's mitre on top of a shield with N.C.S. below in maroon. An elaborate rim treatment, also in maroon, accents the plate.

The backstamp of the plate dates it to 1931-1960's. It's in excellent condition, showing few signs of use and, of course, no chips, cracks or hairlines.

Great gift for a current or former student! Thanks for looking and please see all 3 pictures.
